It is with deep sadness that we honour the passing of our colleague and friend Mr Shah.
He was a stalwart member of the Preston Library Campaign Committee from the very outset, taking part in all the activities associated with the Campaign and giving notable readings from, among others, Animal Farm, Alice in Wonderland and A Christmas Carol. On several occasions he rose to his feet, when called upon, to give beautiful accounts of the Jain religion – his own faith. The family had used Preston Library as children and Mr Shah and his friends met weekly to read and discuss the newspapers.
A noble man of great principle, he will be greatly missed.
