Ray Patel

We were very sad to hear of the death, last week, of Rohit Patel, who was known to everyone here as Ray. The library only exists because people generously give their time and knowledge, and Ray was one of the first people who worked with us in the old library building. He taught IT to adults for several years until forced to stop by ill health, but he continued to be a friend of the library. The last time I saw him, in the library earlier this year, we spoke about the possibility of his returning to teaching, but sadly illness returned and it was not to be. My memory of Ray is of a kind and gentle man who was always willing to help us, and who was liked by everyone who came into contact with him. We will miss him.
