Welcome to Preston Community Library
Friends of Preston Library formed in 2011, with a mission to stop the closure of our local library – one of six which were being closed by Brent. In 2015 we reopened as a community-run library, staffed by volunteers and funded almost entirely by donations. In 2019 we were shortlisted and ‘highly commended’ in The Bookseller magazine’s Library of the Year Awards.
In December 2024, the Library closed the site in Ashley Gardens and started the move back to its original home in Carlton Avenue East. We are already running some activities in the new building and we hope to open the library to the general public very soon.
